[Palma de Mallorca, Spain] – [March 13th, 2024] – Tsunami Sounds, a renowned American record label, is proud to announce the release of "Mallorca" EP by the talented Italian artist Dj Nio. This exciting new project takes listeners on a sonic journey through the enchanting island of Mallorca in southern Spain, capturing the essence of Nio’s spicy adventures on cruise ships around the world.
"Mallorca" EP is a testament to Nio's musical prowess and his ability to blend diverse influences into a cohesive and captivating sound. Inspired by the rich heritage of "Mallorquina" old folk music, Nio incorporates sampled elements alongside his own unique compositions, painting a vivid musical portrait of the island's vibrant culture. From the tantalizing flavors of the local cuisine to the warmth of the native people, Nio's experiences are vividly brought to life through this project.
This EP is not only a solo endeavor by Nio but also a collaborative effort with Spanish guitarist Pedro Rodríguez. Their collaboration, forged onboard a cruise ship in a cabin recording session, adds depth and dimension to the EP's sound, enhancing its immersive qualities. Additionally, "Mallorca" EP serves as a poignant tribute to Nio's longtime friend and pianist, Cristiano Ferrevoux a.k.a. La Singolarità, whose memory lives on through the music they created together.

The artwork of ”Mallorca" EP is made by Nio himself and it’s based on a caricature done by Edyta Kraczkowska, a portrait artist from Eastern Europe that Nio met in 2022 and that’s have been living in Palma de Mallorca for many years.
